(opportunity)
Green Light enlisted me to build their brand identity and visual storytelling from the ground up. I helped conceptualize a social meet-up app that inspired people to put their phones down and reconnect with the world around them.
(approach)
Visualize a rich and approachable product experience that energizes people without being overly addictive or childish. The user experience needed to be effortless, enjoyable, and accessible, encouraging organic conversation and in-person meet-ups. A concise brand platform and interface would help foster enthusiasm and self-discovery while ensuring user safety and control.
01 / Brand & Identity
(collaboration is key here)
I initiated the project by leading collaborative working sessions for product visioning and idea sharing, establishing a foundation for the project. The consensus was that the brand should be fun, accessible and approachable, yet refined. I explored shape and form through sketches and digital formats, establishing milestones for strategic re-engagement with the client to gather feedback and continued collaboration.
02 / brand guidelines & growth
(let there be life)
Our final concept embodied the Green Light ethos - bold, bright, and straightforward. This milestone marked a crucial step in the app's early development, providing a foundation for growth and building momentum. I helped weave a thoughtful brand narrative into the founders' market strategy, enabling them to present their concept to potential stakeholders and drive growth.
03 / the "real" marketing campaign
04 / mobile design
(building from scratch)
With a formal visual system in place, our next phase involved conceptualizing a light app design to explore potential and build confidence in the brand. This process included UX discovery, user flows, basic information architecture, low to medium fidelity wireframes, and an early-stage UI experience anchored by our recently established brand standards.
05 / UX Design
(structure & form)
Our UX research showed that the app needed to be easy to use and quickly guide users to their desired destination. I developed a sketch user-flow maps with the client to compose a basic framework while concurrently designing initial UI experiences using low fidelity wireframes that explored the platform's basic contents. As early-stage prototypes continued to evolve, I started applying elements from our brand toolkit to create a formal visual interface.
06 / user interface & interaction
(when it all comes together)
The Green Light V1 interface embodies our brand values - inviting, user-friendly, and exciting. Its visually stimulating design promotes curiosity and a social environment, with modals and overlays for user orientation. By using a structural design system that expands upon our brand guidelines, I crafted an intuitive interface that builds user trust and prioritizes accessibility.
